A double CD best-of covering the group's 1967-1972 period, its tapes recompiled and remastered for the compact disc reissue. The selection is reasonably complete, although it leaves out one excellent number for every two that are included, and the individual CDs are probably a better investment. The new liner notes by John Tracy are also thoughtful and informative. * * * *

Beautiful melodies, wondrous harmonies, heartfelt lyrics, orchestral textures -- this fabulous double-disc treasure from the British band's second coming shows they can do it all. Creative and mood-provoking, this class act set new trends in its time and they're still wonderful. Still, a few peeved purists implore get the individual concept albums instead. * * * *
